Qognifly develops a family of modular UAV platforms designed to adapt across multiple operational scenarios, combining system-level integration with mission-driven flexibility.

Within this ecosystem, SP5 is built for persistent surveillance and reconnaissance missions.

Designed as a hybrid VTOL platform, it combines vertical takeoff and landing with fixed-wing endurance, enabling up to 24 hours of continuous flight, operational altitudes of up to 5,000 meters, and speeds of up to 160 km/h.

With a maximum takeoff weight of 55 kg and a payload capacity of up to 20 kg, the platform integrates advanced EO/IR systems and mission-specific payloads, supporting a wide range of ISR operations.

SP5 supports a control range of over 180 km, with unlimited range via Starlink, enabling reliable operation across complex and demanding environments in all-weather conditions.

Engineered as a complete system, SP5 brings together propulsion, avionics, and payload integration into a platform built for real-world deployment.

Three days at BSDA 2026 come to an end.

What made this edition meaningful was the quality of the conversations, especially the ones centered around how operational ISR capability is actually understood and applied in today’s environment.

Having our drone systems present in the exhibition area gave those discussions a practical point of reference, and that direct exchange is something we value greatly moving forward.

On one of the most important weeks of the year, on the eve of BSDA 2026, we were at Vantarc Defense Forum and the conversation brought much-needed clarity and sincerity.

Our CEO, Ion Mocanu, joined the panel on the future of defense technology alongside Răzvan Foncea, Mihai Filip, Ana-Maria Bușunoiu, and Duncan Stewart, a group that added real depth to a conversation the industry doesn’t always approach honestly.

The message Ion brought to the table is one we strongly stand behind: the era of simple, low-security, single-scenario drone systems is coming to an end. What’s replacing it isn’t just better drones, it’s a completely different logic: strategic infrastructure. High-autonomy ISR systems, anti-drone and interceptor capabilities, and ecosystems built to NATO integration standards.

Ukraine has changed the equation for all of us. It’s no longer about who has the biggest platform, but about who can produce faster, deliver faster, and adapt faster than the threat.
