Why is it worth it to learn a foreign language? Зачем нужно учить иностранные языки?

There was a mouse in her hole and a hungry cat seeking to lure her out. After a while, an idea occurred to the cat - she came up to the hole and made a loud C**K – A – DOODLE – DOO.
Bewildered and wondering “What on earth is a c**k doing here?” the mouse ran out only to be eaten up at once. Smacking her lips, says the feline: “It does pay knowing foreign languages doesn’t it?”

Кошка хотела съесть мышь, но не знала, как выманить трусливую мышь из норки. Кошка решила пойти на хитрость, она подошла к норе и громко прокричала: «Ку-ка-ре-ку»! Мышь подумала: «Ё-моё.… Откуда здесь петух!?» Мышь выбежала из норы посмотреть, и кошка её тут же съела. «Надо же, - думала кошка, облизываясь, - Как все-таки полезно учить иностранные языки»…
