Yang Goong Disaster Day × 1st Day of Lunar 7th Month

⚠️ 13 August 2026

Today carries a particularly sensitive energy, Yang Goong Disaster Day (杨公忌日) coinciding with the 1st day of the Lunar 7th Month.

Traditionally, this combination is associated with instability, obstacles, delays, misunderstandings and unexpected setbacks. The Lunar 7th Month is also regarded as a period when yin energies become more active.

🪷 Today is better for keeping a low profile, staying grounded and avoiding unnecessary risks. Good excuse for not working! 🤭

Traditionally, refrain from:
❌ Starting a new business or major project
❌ Signing major contracts or making significant commitments
❌ Major investments or financial decisions
❌ Moving house or commencing major renovations
❌ Weddings, engagements or other major celebrations
❌ Launching something important for the first time

Instead, use the day for reflection, clearing, completing existing matters, prayer and keeping your energy calm and protected.

This is not a day to be fearful, simply a day to move gently and choose your timing wisely. 🪷❤️

✨ DUAN WU YANG WATER COLLECTION 端午陽水 ✨
Strong Yang energy does not always mean suitable energy.

Every year during Duan Wu Festival (端午), many people collect Yang Water (午時水) during the Hour of Wu (11am–1pm), traditionally believed to be the peak Yang period of the day.

You may have seen videos online saying 19 June 2026 is the perfect day to collect Yang Water because it falls on the traditional Duan Wu date.

Indeed, this day carries extremely strong Yang energy. However, in Chinese metaphysics, we do not only look at strength, we also consider balance and suitability.

⚠️ 19 June 2026 is also a Yang Gong Disaster Day (杨公忌日).

The day also carries a Wu-Wu Self Punishment (午午自刑) configuration, where the repeated Wu energy creates an amplified Fire/Yang influence.

Strong energy can be powerful, but powerful energy must be handled with wisdom.

For those who are balanced and experienced in working with such energies, this may be suitable.

However, for those who are already weak in Yang energy or unable to handle excessive intensity, too much Yang may create imbalance instead of harmony.

Possible signs of imbalance:
• Restlessness or feeling drained
• Emotional fluctuations
• Impulsive decisions
• Increased conflicts or accidents

Chinese metaphysics is not about chasing the strongest energy; it is about choosing the right energy, at the right time, for the right person.

For those who are seeking to break through old cycles, use 25 June 2026. Again, intention and focus are key.

Collect with awareness. Respect the energy. 🌿✨

✨ DUAN WU YANG WATER COLLECTION 端午阳水 ✨
Why is this considered one of the most powerful Yang energy days of the year?

Most people know Duan Wu Festival (端午节) for dragon boat races and rice dumplings — but beneath the celebrations lies one of the oldest and most fascinating traditions in Chinese metaphysics: collecting Yang Water (午时水 / 纯阳水).

This practice has been recorded for centuries and comes from the ancient Chinese understanding that certain moments in time carry stronger energetic qualities than others.

So why is this day special?

Duan Wu falls on the 5th day of the 5th lunar month.

In Chinese cosmology:

☀️ Summer = strongest Yang season
🐎 The 5th lunar month corresponds to Wu (午), associated with Fire and peak Yang
🕛 The Hour of Wu (11am–1pm) is when the sun reaches its highest point of the day

When these align, ancient practitioners described it as:

Yang upon Yang (阳上加阳)

Peak Yang season
+ Peak Yang month
+ Double Fifth Day (重午)
+ Peak Yang Hour

This creates what classical metaphysics refers to as #极阳 (Extreme Yang), believed to be the highest concentration of Yang Qi in the annual cycle.

Because water represents Yin (cool, receptive, still), collecting water during this peak Yang period symbolises storing Yang energy within a Yin medium, creating balance and vitality.

This water became known as:

💧 午时水 : Noon Water
💧 纯阳水 : Pure Yang Water
💧 极阳水 : Extreme Yang Water
💧 龙目水 : Dragon’s Eye Water

This tradition appears in historical texts as early as the Song Dynasty.

《琐碎录》:

「五月五日午时,取井水沐浴,一年疫气不侵」

“On the fifth day of the fifth month at the Hour of Wu, draw water and bathe, and illness shall not invade for the year.”

Historically, this water was used for:
🏠 Space cleansing
🚪 Wiping entrances and thresholds
🛁 Bath rituals and renewal
✨ Charging Feng Shui items and crystals
🌿 Symbolic cleansing and fresh beginnings

For practitioners in 2026, there are several commonly discussed dates:

💰 13 June 2026 (11am–1pm) Four Wu Pure Yang Day
Best for wealth activation, career growth, boosting vitality, charging Feng Shui items and increasing Yang Qi.

⚡ 19 June 2026 (11am–1pm) Traditional Duan Wu Day
Powerful cleansing energy but considered more intense due to energetic clashes.

🔥 25 June 2026 (11am–1pm) Transformation energy
For overcoming obstacles, endings, breakthroughs and major transitions.

How to collect:
• Use clean water (spring / well / filtered / tap)
• Place in glass, ceramic or metal container
• Leave outdoors between 11am–1pm
• Set an intention : protection, abundance, clarity, health or renewal

How to use:
💧 Add to bathwater
💧 Mist dark corners or stagnant spaces
💧 Wipe doors and entrances
💧 Cleanse crystals or Feng Shui tools

Whether you see this as tradition, cultural wisdom, symbolism or metaphysical practice, it’s a reminder of how ancient people observed nature, seasons and cycles.

Will you be collecting Yang Water this year? 🌿

Since we are on the topic of , recently a client came to me in a panic because one of her family members needed a major surgery urgently due to a fast growing tumour. Best case scenario by the specialist stated that sight in 1 eye will be lost. Worst case.. Complete blindness.

They wanted to know if the date was good. This was a public hospital. So in all likelihood it will be difficult to change any date. Initially they were assigned a "remove day" #除日. The next day was a "full day" #满日.
The former would be good for surgeries, until the hospital said that it would be the next day. I didn't want the next day as it could mean a returning of the tumour to a full state eventually.

There was also pressure on me as I had to decide based on the patient's on the outcome. To me, neither outcome given by the specialist was ideal. Between the 2 dates, I recommended the former. In the end I didn't know how they did it, but they were able to convince the hospital to perform the on .

All I could offer was to the patient then, while awaiting news.

Guess what? The outcome was more than ideal - patient kept full sight and is already back to the daily routine.

Most people ask about the best dates to start a job, quit a job, get married, travel, close a deal... I'm glad they put their trust in me in selecting an ideal date when it came to life decisions like these. To me it's not superstition but energies of the day can interact with us, causing different outcomes.

You can already see what happened when I myself tried to wing it a few times before and got into unnecessary issues.

I should have known better (again). 28 May Thursday was kind of the only time before the school holidays hit if I were to pop in to JB for some R&R. It was a day that was best not to do anything but decided to wing it.

Everything was going well until we came back to JB customs and kerbed while at customs. That broke a wheel and increasingly we were unable to drive towards Singapore customs.

After taking out the spare wheel, my friend realised he did not have the right tools to loosen the screws on the flat tyre, so we tried to get help from other motorists. 4 or 5 cars stopped, and most are Malaysian cars (sending 💝 to our neighbours) but not the right tools.

Finally, a customs office pulled us to the side and called for tow truck FOC to bring us across back to Sg. Got special clearance 😆.

We then managed to get the right tools from the tow truck driver and fixed the wheel.

I only realised that the day was against my friends and he doesn't believe in or have any religion.

It all came out after I reviewed the day.

I did write a nice note to ICA after. Unique experience but don't want to go through it again 😂

The next time round, reminder to self to pick a better date, regardless if I'm bringing a whole car of atheists.

These 2 days have been tough days... Decided to cleanse and energise myself with a . If you are also facing "bad" days, may this also help.

A note that this is the basic bath, for something that needs more attention, it'll be another type.

Get fresh flowers, you can get them from the market but no white ones.

Put them in water with some natural salts. If you can, soak in a bathtub or otherwise just a pail will do.

After you've bathed, run the flower water from head to toe, seeing it cleanse away any residual energies.

After that you can clear all the flowers and dispose of them.

No need to rinse off the flower water.

After that have an early night if possible! Tomorrow will be better 💪👌

I was writing yesterday in response to my friend's post about people already leaving us around our age.

Is 40 young? How about 80? I think they are just numbers, but if you left a meaningful legacy and went through life with purpose, there should be little regret right?

I hope those souls who went already are celebrating 🌹
