30 day gratitude challenge day 30 : something you have done for others

The traditional pineapple tarts (one bottle baked by my ever energetic just in time mentor) vs the modern aka lazy pineapple tart de-constructed created by moi.

I’m more used to giving than receiving. So there was an oddly weird feeling as I collected the love packed pineapple tarts this morning 💝.

Keeping that feeling in mind and in my heart, I am even more motivated to do more for others in the new year 💪🏻

Some women open their wardrobe and say “I have nothing to wear”.

I open my fridge door and say “I have nothing to eat” (even when it’s well stocked 😅).

I am grateful for my home best friend - the fridge. It keeps many of my other friends - ice cream, yogurt, fruit, chocolate, carbonated drinks well and chilled 😏.

Just like my digital business is keeping me well prepared for my retirement 😌.

For the lunar new year, pineapple tarts are a must. I usually don’t buy them or the off the shelf ingredients. This means slicing, dicing and cooking the jam, mixing the dough and finally assembling them into tarts and baking. It take many hours to complete them. This year, I got lazy and decided to create this pineapple tart de-constructed 😁😁. Pineapple sponge cake layered with pineapple jam and mascarpone mousses topped with even more pineapple jam.

30 day gratitude challenge day 26 : city/town you live

My home, my country Singapore is relatively safe with low crime rates. Well low crime does not mean no crime and it is often difficult to reintegrate back into society after one has served his penance in prison.

With the lunar new year around the corner, there was a call for home made cookies to bless just released persons to celebrate the occasion with their loved ones. I happily hopped on the wagon and baked these over the weekend 😁😁.

I also reached out to friends to pen an message to personalise the gift. Thankfully I do have friends with hearts 🥰

30 day gratitude challenge day 24 : an experience taught you a lesson

Thanks to Facebook for reminding me of my visit to The Ring of Remembrance, Notre Dame de Lorette, France.

I had never been keen to visit war memorials and the likes. So when my friend, Caroline said she was driving me to this place, I cringed inside as I thought it would be boring. As we both walked slowly inside the ring, I tried to read each and every name but there were just too many. Each fallen soldier’s name engraved on the wall, regardless of which army they were serving. It was a sombre walk as I imagined the war scene. I left the ring with tears in my eyes …. And a new appreciation for life.

My lesson - have an open mind to try new experiences. You may find that you enjoy it after all.

I thought long and hard about this and realised that EVERYTHING about me is special - there is only ONE unique me in the whole wide world 😊.
