Well, if you don’t, let us fill you in. The most common element used in making your favorite shirt 👕 is “Cotton”. But did you know, cotton has a dirty little secret that most of us are unaware of ? Although the Growing, Manufacturing and Transportation of the cotton-based products has a detrimental impact, it is users who leave a larger footprint in the long run.

“For every problem there is a solution”, this is the common phrase uttered when faced with a formidable challenge. In the Philippines that challenge was “MALARIA”🦟.

THE SOLUTION? 💁‍♀️

The Movement Against Malaria (MAM) program by the Pilipinas Shell Foundation, Inc. (PSFI)🇵🇭. In partnership with the Department of Health and the Provincial Government of Palawan, the resounding success of the pilot project led to the replication of this program across the country.

THE OUTCOME ? 💁‍♂️

Over 60 of the 81 provinces affected are today recognized as malaria free, with a further 18 having recorded zero new cases and awaiting their malaria free status. An astounding achievement.

It is truly heartwarming to see large corporations🏢 take it upon themselves to address major issues and successfully overcome them. This is one sustainability initiative that must be recognized for the difference it has made.
