1985年，岳父的离世，让丹斯里邝汉光亲历了殡葬环境的混乱与冷漠。那一刻，他心中升起一个信念：逝者，应安息于宁静、尊严、温暖之地。

他开始构想一座不一样的墓园，如公园般优美，能让人安心走近、生出敬意。于是，一个前所未有的生命服务品牌诞生了。

他将企业命名为【 #富贵】，源于一种祝愿：每位长者在告别人生时，都渴望将【 #富】足的生活与【 #贵】气的精神，传承给后人。这两个字，代表的不只是财富，更是一份殷切的祝福，对后代的厚望。

丹斯里邝汉光始终坚信：企业要【 #因人而在】。不论客户还是员工，每一个人的感受都值得被珍视。服务不只是流程，而是一种情感的回应，让后人放心托付先人的一份庄重承诺。

三十多年过去，富贵集团已成为业界标杆。
2019年，他亲手将接力棒交给长子拿督斯里邝耀丰。看着孩子们秉持初心，各自发光，也彼此扶持，他心中无比踏实。

如今，富贵不只是墓园，更是一方温情之地。它承载着一代人的信念，也启发着下一代的觉醒。

In 1985, the passing of his father-in-law brought Tan Sri Kong Hon Kong face-to-face with the disarray and unfeeling nature of the funeral industry at the time. In that moment, a conviction took root in his heart: the departed deserve to be laid to rest in a place of tranquility, dignity, and warmth.

He began envisioning a memorial park unlike any other – one as beautiful as a garden, a place that is welcoming for the people to come with peace of mind and reverence. From that vision, a groundbreaking life service brand was born.

He named the enterprise, “Fù Guì富贵” (meaning abundance and nobility) in Chinese, inspired by a heartfelt wish: that every elder, as they bid farewell to life in their final days, could leave a legacy of abundance (富 Fù) and a noble (贵 Guì) spirit to future generations. These two characters represent not just material abundance – they embody heartfelt blessings and high hopes for the next generation.

Rather than resorting to romanisation, he looked to Buddhism and adopted “Nirvana” for the Latin script version of his new company name. A serene, transcendent state attained through cultivation of great merit, Nirvana in Buddhism represents the highest state of spiritual enlightenment and liberation from the cycle of rebirth that all aspire for – something not only still in keeping with well intentions to guide families and their loved ones with dignity toward a serene and meaningful farewell, but also reflects what he saw as a noble higher calling.

Tan Sri Kong Hon Kong has always believed that a business should exist because of people. Whether customers or employees, each person’s feelings deserve to be valued. Service is not merely a process—it is an emotional response, a solemn promise that loved ones will be entrusted with dignity and care.

More than three decades later, Nirvana Asia Group stands as an industry benchmark. In 2019, he personally handed the baton to his eldest son, Dato’ Sri Jeff Kong Yew Foong. Seeing his children uphold the founding vision, each shining in their own way while supporting one another, brought him profound comfort.

Today, Nirvana is more than a memorial park — it is a place of warmth, carrying the beliefs of one generation and inspiring the awakening of the next.
