Last week, Deloitte Singapore hosted students from Singapore Indian Development Association Corporate Mentoring (Youth) Programme at our office for a mentoring session focused on leadership, personal success, and professional growth. Since 2024, we have supported this mentorship programme with SINDA as part of our WorldClass ambition to connect students with insights into the working world and future career pathways.

Through meaningful conversations with mentors, 28 participants explored topics ranging from career journeys and growth mindsets to resilience and navigating uncertainty in an evolving world. Students also had the opportunity to tour the Deloitte Greenhouse, an immersive collaboration space designed to inspire innovation, creativity, and problem-solving.

Closing the session, Deloitte Singapore Country Managing Partner Shariq Barmaky encouraged students to reflect beyond academic achievement and on how they apply knowledge through action and experience. He also shared perspectives on embracing uncertainty with curiosity, leading with integrity, and taking ownership of one’s personal growth journey.

The session concluded with networking over lunch, where students had the opportunity to engage with their mentors and Shariq.

Through these mentorship programmes, we hope to continue empowering youths with greater exposure, confidence, and access to future opportunities.
