All too often, companies give INNOVATION lip service, run training workshops, add it into their mission statements and corporate behaviours, set up innovation departments, but, in reality, innovation never gets started!!

In the face of disruptive innovation, most firms that we see recognize the threat fairly early, but fail to change the way that they go about innovating. They falsely believe that they "know" the customer, they champion the future, but invest in the present and they lack urgency.

In today's rapidly changing economy we need to be able to learn, unlearn and relearn to stay ahead of the game in what Danel Pink describes at the Conceptual Age. Having a set of knowledge is no longer enough.

Why people should take the time to learn new things as an investment in themselves.

‘We are born creative geniuses and the education system dumbs us down, according to NASA scientists’.

In fact we should all leave school with our heads slightly tilted to the LEFT, as our creative RIGHT brain has been forgotten, discouraged, victimized and left unused.

The scientists gave the test to 1,600 children between the ages of 4 and 5. What they found shocked them.

Great piece on SELF-AWARENESS. Any form of change has to start with ourselves. Only through understanding ourselves can we understand those around us.

Self-awareness is perhaps the most important tool for gaining access to our own agency, which is what we have control over at a most basic level, so that we can choose positive behavioral responses to the various situations we encounter in our lives on a moment-to-moment basis.
