BLCC had an eye-opening ‘Dealing with Plastic’ event on October 11th, moderated by Claudia Gehlen.

A big thank you to our speakers Outi Grüner, Christina Gonzales, Stephanie Simonnet and Hans Van Belle who shared their invaluable insights and real-world case studies. From single-use plastics to microplastics, nano plastics and production-to-reuse materials cycle, the event shed light on their impact, both globally and individually.

As we pondered over the challenges, one thing became clear: we all play a role in the solution. From individuals to companies to governments, there is a lot we can do and still need to do, to combat this pressing issue. It’s time we take responsibility and make changes in our daily lives, businesses, and policies.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to HE Ambassador of Belgium, Collet Taquet, for gracing the event with her presence and contributing her insights on dealing with plastic.

Last Saturday BLCC had the privilege of attending a truly inspiring art sculpting session. Thanks to Gregoire Willem our talented artist for his passion and guidance, RightNow Ventures the fantastic organizer for their meticulous planning, and our gracious host for the perfect venue. Our participants found the session informative and relaxing, the engaging event sparked creativity and we found inspiration and a new respect for sculpting. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Ministry Of Manpower and the Singapore Economic Development Board - EDB for illuminating the launch of Singapore's Complementarity Assessment Framework (COMPASS) for Employment Pass (EP) applications. This development is of immense significance, and today's event provided a unique opportunity to delve into its intricacies, freely pose questions, and gain insights from the government's perspective.

We are also immensely thankful to Maximilian Kressner, Senior Associate/Attorney-at-Law at Luther Singapore, for sharing invaluable insights into this new system and the nuances that European organizations, employers, and employees must consider.
