Most of us start our business by offering services based on the technical skills we possess. This is a great start but to run a successful and thriving business, we need more than that.
Here’s a real life story…..
In 2018, I was appointed to lead an out-source accounting and CFO service for a 7-𝖋𝖎𝖌𝖚𝖗𝖊, 50-𝖞𝖊𝖆𝖗-𝖔𝖑𝖉 𝖈𝖑𝖎𝖊𝖓𝖙 𝖜𝖎𝖙𝖍 𝖆𝖇𝖔𝖚𝖙 15 𝖘𝖙𝖆𝖋𝖋. They had employed two full-time accounts executives to keep their accounts, before we were appointed.
What comes to your mind when you hear of a business that has been around for almost 50 years, grossing 7 figures in revenue and has two full-time accounts executive?
You would think that they are profitable and well managed, with all up-to-date systems, processes, and infrastructure in place, wouldn’t you?
𝕹𝖔, 𝕹𝖔, 𝕹𝖔. 𝕿𝖍𝖎𝖘 𝖆𝖘𝖘𝖚𝖒𝖕𝖙𝖎𝖔𝖓 𝖎𝖘 𝖋𝖆𝖗 𝖋𝖗𝖔𝖒 𝖙𝖍𝖊 𝖙𝖗𝖚𝖙𝖍!
Here are some common issues I found:
- The company has outgrown their old accounting system.
- The company was making losses and had barely 1% of net profits in better times.
- None of their staff understood finance and how to interpret their financial reports.
- There were inefficiencies in their service fulfilment processes.
- There were several loopholes in their service contracts.
- There service offering and rates were outdated.
- Most importantly, the existing accounts executives do not have experience nor expertise to help the company turnaround.
Within the first year, 𝐈 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐚 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐢𝐭 𝐛𝐲 𝟏𝟐.𝟓 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬, 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥, 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐮𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫!
𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙡𝙮 𝙢𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙣𝙚𝙩 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙛𝙞𝙩 𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙜𝙞𝙣 𝙞𝙣 𝙮𝙚𝙖𝙧 2 & 3 𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, 𝙙𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙘𝙚.
Since then, I realised that I can, I should, and I will help more business become profitable and successful.

Good day to all!

Last week, I attended the Vegan Pastry baking class with my hubby and would like to share some of our creation with you.

I was surprised to learn there are various egg replacement natural ingredients that we can use from Chef Low.

Before the Vegan Pastry Class, I did tried to follow youtube to bake cake using yoghurt and curd recipe, but the texture was not as soft as the cake recipe taught in the class.

The pumpkin tart tasted quite close to egg tart.

The scone is so soft, very different from those I have seen which were very hard.

My 2 teenagers who have been on vegetarian diet since birth love the birthday cake best.

Next week, I will be attending the vegan bread class and will share more with you after the class.
