The 10th Capital Link Maritime Leaders Summit is just days away.

Taking place on 1 June in Athens as part of Posidonia week, the summit brings together shipowners, financiers, and industry leaders to work through what's shaping global shipping right now, from energy shifts and trade realignment to green shipping debates and the role of geopolitics in market strategy.

Our Chief Commercial Officer, Roine Ahlquist, and Vice President Newbuilding Services, Thomas Reckefuß, will both be there on 1 June, following the discussions and connecting with peers across the industry.

At Wilhelmsen Ship Management, we manage vessels across a wide range of ship types and trades. If you're in Athens, feel free to reach out to Roine or Thomas for a chat.

The third cut is just as important as the first.

We recently marked the third vessel steel cutting for CLdN's six container vessels under construction at HD Hyundai Naval and Medium Size Shipbuilding Division in Ulsan, South Korea.

We were honoured to have our Hull Supervisor, Mr. Seong, cut the first plate of these highly specialised container vessels — a proud moment for our team on the ground.

Each steel cutting is more than a ceremony. It's the moment a vessel's identity begins to take physical form, and the point where our supervision team's preparation meets the shipyard's ex*****on. Our team in Korea reviews structural plans, monitors material traceability, and ensures every cut aligns with the agreed specifications. So that what's built matches what was designed, down to the detail.

With deliveries scheduled between January and August 2027, we are closely monitoring and supervising the process.

Last Friday, over 100 Norwegians and friends of Norway gathered at The Ritz-Carlton, Singapore for the Norway Constitution Day business lunch, hosted by NBAS - Norwegian Business Association Singapore and the Norwegian Embassy in Singapore, a festive early celebration ahead of 17 May. Among those present was H.E. Leif Trana, Ambassador of Norway to Singapore.

Our Chief Commercial Officer, Roine Ahlquist was there to celebrate alongside the community.

NBAS has been a great supporter of Wilhelmsen Ship Management, most recently featuring Cyclus Marine and Waterway IT in their newsletter. Events like this are a reminder of the strong Norwegian community they've built here in Singapore.

As a Norwegian company in Asia, Constitution Day carries real meaning. It's a reminder of where we come from, and the spirit we bring with us wherever we operate.

Gratulerer med dagen to everyone who celebrated.

She almost quit during her cadetship. But she held on and eventually left with a Master License.

This International Day for Women in Maritime, we sat down with Umambiga Ramachandran, a former Second Officer turned HSEQ professional, to talk about what drew her to life at sea, what she faced out there, and what she'd say to the young woman standing at the edge of the same decision she once made.

Happy May 17 Norway!

Founded in 1861 in Norway, the Wilhelmsen group is still family-controlled after 165 years of rich maritime history. Through centuries, the world has changed around us many times over. The ships got bigger. The routes got longer. Technology and competence has been upgraded and refined because the maritime industry never stops evolving.

But some things have stayed the same: a long-term view, a sense of responsibility, an investment in our people, and a deep pride in where we come from. It's what drives Wilhelmsen Ship Management every day, in how we care for our people, and in the trust we build with every client.

Today, from our teams across the globe, we celebrate Norway's Constitution Day with the same engagement we always have.

Gratulerer med dagen (happy birthday), Norway!

"3D models don't float! The ultimate reality check at sea"

That's Muhammad Naufal Mohd Azhar, our Project Manager on site. As Naufal puts it, 3D models and blueprints are fantastic, but out on the waves is where design meets reality.

Sea trials are currently underway for one of the 5,000 DWT Multi-Purpose Vessels (MPVs) we are supervising for Atlas Marine (Greece) at KTU Shipyard. Naufal and our Vice President Newbuilding Services, Thomas Reckefuss, were both on board for the trial.

A lot happens before the vessel even leaves port — coordination with the yard, safety briefings, making sure every team member knows exactly what they're there to check. By the time the lines are cast off, there's no ambiguity.

Out at sea, the work is clear and the results are immediate. Our team monitors the systems, watches the numbers, and flags anything that doesn't match what it should. Sea trials are where months of construction are put to the test — and the water doesn't lie.

Findings get picked up early and follow-up starts immediately. The moment we're back ashore, so does the reporting — debriefs, data review, and a clear picture of what needs to happen before delivery.

For a four-vessel series, getting this right on each vessel matters. What we learn here carries directly into the ones that follow.

More updates to come as the vessels progress toward delivery.

“Recognition from ACCA reflects how far we’ve come. We started small but have steadily scaled our capabilities, and today our Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia office plays a key role as a shared services hub,” says Daniel Reinsborg, our Chief Financial Officer.

This achievement reflects how we continue to invest in our people and strengthen our capabilities, supporting the reliability our customers depend on every day.
