# I Am The Pause Yogi
We live in a world trained to move quickly.
When we feel pressure, we react.
When we feel empty, we reach for more.
More food. More scrolling. More work. More noise. More approval.
But what if the answer is not always more?
What if, before the next reaction, there is a small space?
A pause.
I call myself **The Pause Yogi** because I believe this small space can change a life.
The Pause Yoga™ is not about twisting your body into difficult positions. It is a modern, practical awareness practice: learning to notice what is happening inside you—an urge, a thought, a sensation, an emotion—without automatically turning it into action.
The purpose is simple:
**Pause first. Breathe. Feel. Then choose.**
When we pause, we begin to return to ourselves.
We can notice the stress before it becomes anger.
We can feel the craving before it becomes another unconscious habit.
We can recognise the fear before it decides our next step.
This is not about suppressing desire or becoming passive. It is about gaining back the power to choose.
My own work draws inspiration from the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, Daoist inner practices, and the realities of modern life. The language may be old, but the challenge is very current: how do we live with more awareness in a world designed to pull us away from ourselves?
The Pause Yoga™ offers one possible path:
**More → Pause → Experience → Return → Choose → Act**
Not perfect. Not distant. Not complicated.
Just one real moment at a time.
Here on this Substack, I will share simple practices, reflections, and stories about awareness, breath, vitality, desire, relationships, work, and the quiet strength that becomes available when we stop running from ourselves.
The problem is not that we go out into the world.
The problem is forgetting how to return.
Welcome.
I’m The Pause Yogi.
Let’s begin with one breath—and one pause.
