Riyad Alqasim Abdullahi represents the U.S. at the 46th King Abdulaziz International Qur’an competition in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

The 2026 event marks a historic first with a women’s section.
It attracted 334 contestants from 133 countries. Abdullahi expressed pride and gratitude, praising Saudi Arabia's efforts in supporting Qur’an memorizers.

The competition, organized by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Islamic Affairs, runs from August 6-19, 2026, with prizes over SAR10 million, covering memorisation, recitation, and interpretation. Her participation highlights new opportunities for women in this global contest.
