We are thrilled to share the successful completion of our project in partnership with CARE International in Somalia. We worked in “Engaging Women in Peer-to-Peer Dialogues on Public Speaking and Negotiation Skills,” implemented across the regions of Maroodi-Jeex, Togdheer, and Sanaag of Somaliland!
We worked with 172 inspiring women all who were happy to work with us. Some worked as cooks, caregivers, and community leaders, across 12 schools to strengthen their voices in local decision-making.
Through intensive workshops and peer-to-peer dialogue circles, participants moved from silence to leadership which was an achievement we were aiming for.
Many women spoke publicly for the first time, gaining the confidence to advocate for:
✅ Safer learning environments for students.
✅ Improvements in school infrastructure and hygiene.
✅ Fairer representation in school governance and decision-making committees.
We saw real change in action for schools like Darasalam and Beer, women have already used their new negotiation skills to secure school repairs and improve student welfare.
As one participant beautifully shared:
“When we speak together, people listen. Now we know that our voices can change our schools.”
Leadership isn’t just about having a seat at the table; it’s about having a voice that is heard. We are so proud of these "Women Champions" who are now leading the way for a better future for their children and communities.
