Earlier this month, IAC_Somalia, with support from GREDO and SCI, facilitated a 2-day dialogue forum to discuss increased accountability on children's rights in SWS Somalia. Over 120 participants from CSOs, government, and the humanitarian sector attended.
On Day 1, the forum covered the role of government, CSO perspectives, accountability in the humanitarian system, and building advocacy partnerships. Discussions highlighted the need for stronger collaboration to address children's rights challenges.
Accountability
On Day 2, government officials joined to respond to questions from CSOs and agencies. Key issues included child labor, rights legislation, vulnerable children's needs, and security concerns around child recruitment.
The dialogue concluded with recommendations to strengthen government accountability, enhance stakeholder collaboration, and prioritize sustainable solutions to protect children's rights in Southwest Somalia.
