Meet the Innovators | Mangateen IDP Camp

Introducing the innovators from Mangateen IDP Camp, where displacement, overcrowding, and climate shocks create heightened protection risks for women and girls.

After successful application and selection for the Design Thinking Workshop part of the UNFPA community led innovation, these innovators have refined ideas focused on community safety, dignity, and climate-responsive solutions tailored to IDP settings. Their work reflects lived experience and strong community ownership.

They now advance to the competition stage for growth funding, bringing hope and innovation from within the camp.

Our Program Manager participated in a five days valuable training on Digital skills which was organised by the Internet Society South Sudan chapter in Scenius Hub, and this training has made him to covered a wide range of topics during the training:

Day1: Introduction to Basic computer

Day 2: Introduction to Digital Skills: Understanding Digital Transformation, Overview of how digital skills impact business operations.

Key Digital Tools: Introduction to essential digital tools for communication, project management, and collaboration (e.g., Slack, Trello, Asana).

Day 3: Online Safety and CyberSecurity: Basics of cybersecurity practices, including password management and recognizing phishing scams.

Day 4: Data Management and Analysis

Data Literacy: Understanding the importance of data in decision-making.

Using Spreadsheets: Introduction to advanced features of Excel or Google Sheets for data analysis.

Basic Data Visualization: Introduction to tools like Tableau or Google Data Studio to create descriptive charts and reports.

Digital Marketing Skills

Social Media Strategies: Best practices for using social media platforms for business.

SEO Basics: Understanding the principles of search engine optimization to enhance online presence.

Email Marketing: Creating effective email campaigns and understanding metrics.

Day 4: Collaboration and Remote Work

Project Management Tools: In-depth look at tools like Monday.com or ClickUp for task management.

Virtual Collaboration: Techniques for effective teamwork in remote settings, including video conferencing best practices.

A Digital Skills For an Innovative East African Industry (dSkills@EA) on 23/09/2024.

Rupkol Investment Co Ltd attended a five (5) days capacity-building training session organized by GIZ in Partnership with WIN GLOBAL CONSULT to 37 Companies/Organizations Staffs on Digital Marketing and E-commerce in Juba -South Sudan, University of Juba Computer Lab from, 23th, Sept, 2024- 27th, Sept, 2024 .
The training focused on several key areas crucial for the business growth and effectiveness in the World of Digital Market.

- Introduction to E- Commerce
- Foundation of Digital Marketing Activities.
- Creating a digital Marketing Plan
- Market Resource Management Introduction
- Quick Wins in E-commerce and digital Marketing
- Security and Privacy
- Go Global and Regional

We were also introduced into several useful tools such as;
1- CapCut, OBs Studio, Canva, Wix- Web (Web Designing), Clipchamp and TTsMaker.

These tools will surely help us to strengthen our communication, advertisement and Branding Strategic in the Digital Marketing.

The Participants were officially graduated on Friday 28th, Sept, 2024 after meeting all the necessarily Graduation Criteria.
