Aweil Business Cooperative Society Outreach and Awareness.

On 15 August 2026, a delegation from the leadership of the Aweil Business Association in Juba conducted a cooperative outreach and awareness visit to Gumbo Sharikat.

The delegation was led by the Chairperson, Mr. Dau Akot Dau, accompanied by the delegation Chairperson, Mrs. Apuol Ngor Akol, and the Secretary General, Mr. Garang Achien Achien.

Upon arrival at Gumbo Sharikat, the delegation was warmly received by the Aweil Business Association Coordinator for Gumbo Sharikat, Mr. Arol Deng Kuan, together with members of the association in the area.

During the outreach, the sensitized members on the importance of cooperation, collective economic empowerment, savings, access to credit, and the role of cooperatives in strengthening the business community.
In his remarks, Chairperson Mr. Dau Akot Dau expressed appreciation to Mr. Arol Deng Kuan for his commitment, dedication, and wise leadership in mobilizing and supporting business members at Gumbo Sharikat. He encouraged the members to continue working together and actively participate in the cooperative movement.

Mr. Dau further encouraged all business members to register and become members of the newly established Aweil Business Saving and Credit Cooperative Society (Aweil Business SACCOS). He emphasized that the cooperative is intended to create opportunities for members to save collectively, access affordable credit, strengthen their businesses, and promote sustainable economic development among the Aweil business community.

The leadership of the Aweil Business Association reaffirmed its commitment to expanding cooperative awareness and ensuring that business members across Juba understand the benefits of joining and supporting Aweil Business SACCOS.
The outreach concluded with a call for unity, active participation, mutual support, and collective investment for the economic advancement of the Aweil business community.

AT NYAKURON AND CUSTOM MARKET

The Leadership of the Aweil Business Association in Juba would like to inform all members of the Aweil Business Association who are doing business along the roadside at Nyakuron & Custom
Market.

We kindly ask everyone to cooperate with the ongoing road clearing exercise being carried out by the Juba City Council together with the Chamber of Commerce.

All members are requested to remove their goods, stalls, and any temporary structures from the
roadside as directed by the Juba City Council with Chamber of Commerce. This work is being
done to make the roads safe, allow free movement of vehicles and people, and to keep our business
areas clean and well organized.

We also want to warn those who are using the name of the Aweil Business Association to cause confusion or disturb this process. Such actions are not supported by the Aweil Business
Association and do not represent our own association.

The Aweil Business Association is known for peace, respect, and following the law. We therefore encourage all members to remain calm, obey the instructions of the government authorities, and
avoid any actions that may bring problems or damage the good name of our Association.

The Cooperative Bank of South Sudan Conducts Training for Aweil Business Cooperative Society Members

The Cooperative Bank of South Sudan today conducted a training session for members of the Aweil Business Cooperative Society at its Kololo Branch in Juba.

The training aimed to equip members with a better understanding of the principles and benefits of cooperative societies while strengthening the partnership and working relationship between the Cooperative Bank of South Sudan and the Aweil Business Cooperative Society.

According to the remarks from Mr Dau Akot Dau, Co-founder of the Aweil Business Cooperative Society and Chairperson of the Aweil Business Association, he expressed his sincere appreciation to the Cooperative Bank of South Sudan for organizing the training. He noted that the knowledge gained would empower members to improve their businesses, promote a strong culture of cooperation, and enhance financial inclusion among entrepreneurs from Aweil.

He further encouraged all members to apply the skills and knowledge acquired during the training and reaffirmed the Society's commitment to working closely with the Cooperative Bank of South Sudan in promoting sustainable business growth and economic development.

The Aweil Business Association (ABA) in Juba is pleased to announce an opportunity for 10 young people from Aweil to join a Nail Polish or Nail Design Training Program.

The training aims to help participants gain practical skills that can create self-employment and improve their income.

Eligibility Requirements, Applicants must:
● Be a son or daughter of Aweil.
● Be below 30 years of age.
● Pay 30,000 South Sudanese Pounds (SSP) for T-shirts
● Be responsible for their own transport and lunch during the training period.

Application Period: Applications are open for five (5) days from the date 23/7/2026
Interested applicants should submit their applications to the Office of the Secretary for Training and Business Affairs before the closing date.

AWEIL BUSINESS ASSOCIATION LEADERSHIP VISITS AWEIL AND GENERAL BHAR EL GHAZAL BUSINESS COMMUNITY IN GUMBO SHARIKAT

The Chairperson of the Aweil Business Association in Juba, Mr. Dau Akot Dau, accompanied by a delegation comprising the Secretary for Training and Business Affairs, Mr. Akot Mawien Bul, and the Deputy Secretary for Finance, Mr. Maluil Achuil Mou, visited sons and daughters of Aweil engaged in business activities in Gumbo Sharikat.

Upon arrival, the delegation was warmly received by the Chairman of the Gumbo Sharikat Vendors Union, Mr. Arol Deng Kuan, together with members of his executive committee.

The two leadership teams held fruitful discussions on the challenges facing businesses in the area and explored ways of strengthening cooperation to address these challenges while promoting business growth and contributing to the broader development of the economy.

During the visit, Chairperson Dau Akot Dau pledged the full support of the Aweil Business Association to the Gumbo Sharikat vendors. He urged the business community to cooperate with ground security personnel, the Government of Central Equatoria State, Juba City Council, and the Rajaf Payam Chamber of Commerce in order to promote peace, security, and a conducive environment for business.

𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁

Today, 16ᵗʰ July 2026, the leadership of 𝘼𝙬𝙚𝙞𝙡 𝘽𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝘼𝙨𝙨𝙤𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 in Juba paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed 𝘿𝙚𝙥𝙪𝙩𝙮 𝙏𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝙈𝙖𝙮𝙤𝙧 of Juba City Council, 𝙃𝙤𝙣. 𝙒𝙤𝙡 𝙈𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙠 𝘿𝙞𝙞𝙣𝙜. The Association’s leadership congratulated 𝙃𝙤𝙣. 𝙒𝙤𝙡 𝙈𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙠 𝘿𝙞𝙞𝙣𝙜 on his appointment and expressed confidence in his capacity to serve the people of Juba.

During the meeting, 𝘼𝙬𝙚𝙞𝙡 𝘽𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝘼𝙨𝙨𝙤𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 reiterated its readiness to cooperate amicably with Juba City Council to ensure that markets across Juba are orderly and well managed. The Association requested that the City Council provide timely notice to traders prior to any demolition activities so that vendors may protect their goods and avoid unnecessary losses.

𝘼𝙬𝙚𝙞𝙡 𝘽𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝘼𝙨𝙨𝙤𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 also committed to working hand in hand with Juba City Council to prevent the occupation of public main roads and to help create appropriate spaces for vendors who currently lack designated retail areas.

𝙃𝙤𝙣. 𝙒𝙤𝙡 𝙈𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙠 𝘿𝙞𝙞𝙣𝙜 thanked the leadership of 𝘼𝙬𝙚𝙞𝙡 𝘽𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝘼𝙨𝙨𝙤𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 for their visit and assured them of his cooperation.
