Aweil Business Association in Juba

Today, the Chairperson of Aweil Business Association in Juba, Mr. Dau Akot Dau, alongside his two secretaries, held a briefing meeting with the Nyakurun and Custom Market branch executives (Aweil Traders Council) led by Mr. Coordinator Garang Ariath Piol.

The briefing focused on the formal introduction of the branch executives and clarification of their mandates and responsibilities. The leadership emphasized the importance of unity, cooperation, discipline, and commitment in serving traders within the markets. They further encouraged the executives to work collectively in promoting the interests of Aweil traders, maintaining good coordination, and ensuring smooth communication between the main leadership and market branches. The chairperson has also directed them to collaborate with City council and chamber of Commerce for the smooth running of the activities of Aweil business Association in Juba.

The Association reaffirmed its commitment to supporting all branch executives in order to strengthen business activities and improve collaboration among members in Juba and beyond.

The 𝐀𝐰𝐞𝐢𝐥 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, under the leadership of 𝐃𝐚𝐮 𝐀𝐤𝐨𝐭 𝐃𝐚𝐮, wishes to clarify to the public regarding the recent formation of the Nyakuron Market Traders Council in Nyakuron and Custom Market, coordinated by 𝐌𝐫. 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐏𝐢𝐨𝐥.

In line with Article 23, Sub-Article 12 of the ABA Constitution, the Chairperson is empowered to appoint coordinators for the various markets within Juba, Jonglei State and other states. Exercising this constitutional mandate, the Chairperson granted authority to Mr. Garang Ariath Piol, Coordinator for Nyakuron and Custom Market, to form the Nyakuron Market Traders Council as the working body to coordinate ABA activities at the market level.

The Association would like to make it clear that the leadership officially granted authority and approval to all coordinators of various markets within Juba, Jonglei State, and other states under Article 20 sub-article 10 of the Association’s regulations, to appoint their respective coordination leadership teams. This initiative was intended to make work easier, strengthen coordination, and ensure that all programs and activities of the Association are implemented effectively and on time.

Furthermore, the Office of the Secretary for Information would like to remind the public that the overall leadership of the 𝐀𝐰𝐞𝐢𝐥 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 remains under the chairmanship of 𝐃𝐚𝐮 𝐀𝐤𝐨𝐭 𝐃𝐚𝐮. All coordinators appointed in different markets are responsible for coordinating activities in their respective areas through their 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐬, and they shall continue reporting directly to the main office of the Association.

The Association therefore calls upon all members and the general public to remain united, cooperative, and supportive of the leadership structure established to enhance service delivery and organizational development.

Aweil Business Association Coordinator forms Executive Committee

The Custom Market Coordinator under the leadership of the Aweil Business Association, Garang Ariath Piol, has appointed several members to the executive committee tasked with overseeing members’ business activities in Custom Market.

According to an official document, Abuok Atem Deng was appointed Secretary General, Chan Gong Mel as Deputy Secretary General, Yak Yak Deng as Secretary for Information, Adhel Bona Makuac as Assistant Secretary for Information, Bol Garang Mathok as Legal Advisor, Ariath Ariath Piol as Secretary for Academic Affairs, and Mel Deng Deng as Deputy Secretary for Academic Affairs.

The Aweil Business Association in Juba, headed by Dau Akot Dau, was established to advocate for and support Aweil traders and entrepreneurs operating retail businesses across Juba.

The association covers members operating in various markets, including Custom Market, Konyo-Konyo, Gudele Boba, Kuburi Aboba, Jebel Suk, Sherikat, Suk Libya, New Site, and several other markets across Juba.
