The Games and Sports Friday continued yesterday, April 10, 2026, with interactive activities that brought teachers and students together for an exciting engagement. The day was marked by auspicious events, including a girls’ interclass football competition, a riddle challenge, a creative water-filling game, among others. These activities enhanced leisure, learning, and unity which serve as strategic pillars for both personal and professional development.

These encounter followed a recent learning visit to Wau Zoo, where our students experienced fieldwork firsthand. Wau Light Schools continues to use creative and innovative approaches that make learning attractive, in-depth, and student-centered.
Our teaching and student management methodologies remain unique and student-centered, nurturing both personal and professional development.

Our students, under the guidance of Head Teacher Kulla Richard and dedicated teaching staff, recently engaged in a learning trip to the zoo in Wau town. This initiative is part of our strategic approach to enrich education through field learning, exposure, and practical engagements. The visit was warmly received by the wildlife department. The zoo director appreciated Wau Light Schools for the briliant idea, noting, “We feel excited when people come to visit the zoo.” He emphasized that the institution is knowledge-centered rather than security-focused, and encouraged our students to continue visiting the zoo to expand learning in wildlife and conservation. Such learning trips enable students to bridge classroom knowledge with real-world experiences. They also play a vital role in inspiring future academic and career aspirations. This initiative reflects our commitment to creative and innovative teaching methodologies, grounded in professionalism, transparency, and a strong focus on student-centered learning. This learning trip is one of many others that have been scheduled for the entire year -2026.

𝐆𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬: 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲

Our students have been actively engaged in a well-organized inter-class football competition throughout this week. Friendly matches were played among classes from Senior One to Senior Four as a purposeful initiative to promote talent development, foster unity, and provide a refreshing break from academic routines. These matches also serve as preparation for the upcoming “Director’s Tournament,” where both winners and runners-up will receive substantial awards. This initiative reflects our school’s commitment not only to academic excellence but also to the holistic development of students, including nurturing their talents and strengthening teamwork and social cohesion.

Ireneo's career success was shaped by our 'machine'-like staff who prioritize students learning and long-term growth. Blended with our unique programs which are tailored to elevate South Sudan's youth to global standard, Wau Light Schools offered Ireneo the opportunity to develop confidence, resilience, and leadership skills, while refining his career. Ireneo is currently a second year student, pursuing bachelor's degree in Medicine at the University of Bhar El Gazal.

Gabriel Nyigoi Dinin (aka. Gabriel), our former student from the Class of 2022–2023 recalls his outstanding secondary school life. Gabriel's career success was shaped by our dedicated staff who prioritize students learning and long-term growth. Blended with our unique programs which are tailored to elevate South Sudan's youth to global standard, Wau Light Schools offered Dinin the opportunity to develop confidence, resilience, leadership and teamwork, while refining his career.
