Last Thursday, I had the opportunity to attend the official launch of the State of the Youth Report, led by the Right Honourable Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini .

I also got a chance to share a few thoughts on Eswatini TV (Market View & The News), and honestly, the conversation hit home.

The report, supported by UNFPA Eswatini, really paints a clear picture of what young people in our country are going through. From unemployment, to the struggle of moving from school into work, to issues around health, safety, and having a voice, these are real, everyday challenges.

But what stood out for me is that it doesn’t just talk about the problems, it also gives solutions.

I really liked some of the recommendations, especially:
• Creating incentives for businesses to hire young people
• Making Public-Private Partnerships more youth-inclusive

And the good thing is, as the Youth Chamber of Commerce & Industries - Eswatini, we are already playing a role in pushing some of these solutions forward.

For me, this report shouldn’t just end as a document. It should lead to real change, real opportunities, and real impact for young people across Eswatini.

Big appreciation to UNFPA Eswatiniini for the support and commitment to youth development.

Now it’s about action.

This weekend was colourful in every possible way 🌈😂

I genuinely enjoyed being part of the Usutu Forest School Colour Dash with my team. We didn’t just sponsor the event — we participated, got messy, interacted with people, and experienced the energy of the community firsthand.

I believe businesses, especially growing MSMEs, should engage beyond banners and branding. Sometimes the real impact comes from simply showing up and being part of the moment.

Safe to say… we definitely left covered in colour 😅

On Monday, 25 March 2026, I had the privilege of participating in the AfSIA – Africa Strategic Investment Alliance National Stakeholders Forum held at the Eswatini Revenue Service Auditorium.

The forum brought together key ecosystem players from government, private sector, and development institutions—highlighting a strong, coordinated commitment to advancing MSMEs, digital transformation, and financial inclusion in Eswatini.

A key takeaway for me was clear: our challenge is not the lack of opportunities, but the lack of a coordinated ecosystem to connect MSMEs to markets, finance, and growth platforms.

AfSIA’s approach—focused on handholding MSMEs, blended finance, and digital platforms like Sokokuu.Africa—offers a practical pathway to unlock real impact.

Grateful to have contributed to this important national conversation.

“E2.2 billion leaves Eswatini every year.”

That figure isn’t just a statistic — it’s a decision.

Every year, households spend E2.2 billion on basic imported goods that can be produced locally.
Jobs leave. Value leaves. Opportunity leaves.

Today, the Youth Chamber of Commerce & Industry Eswatini (YCCIE) and A Peculiar People (APP) are choosing a different path.

Through a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding, we are turning import data into a youth-led production strategy — connecting young producers to markets, building trust in local brands, and strengthening domestic value chains through the Made in Eswatini platform.

This partnership is built on one truth:
👉 Youth entrepreneurship is not a social issue — it is economic infrastructure.

💥 The provocation:
If we already spend E2.2 billion every year, why shouldn’t that money build Eswatini-owned companies before it builds foreign ones?

This is not about speeches.
It is about market access, coordination, and choice.

Choose local.
Build capacity.
Create jobs.

The shift has begun.

Last Post of the Year | Momentum, Not Noise

The last three weeks have been a reminder that youth economic transformation doesn’t announce itself — it’s built quietly, deliberately, and consistently.
A few moments that defined this close-out of 2025:

1️⃣ Manzini Regional Leadership & UNDP Eswatini
Engaged in a strategic meeting between the Manzini Regional Administrator and the UNDP Eswatini Country Representative on collaboration towards a meaningful Manzini Regional Day. Development only works when institutions align — not compete. Henrik Franklin Nessie Golakai

2️⃣ Manzini & Matsapha Youth Business Forums
Both forums were a success. Thank you to both municipalities for partnering with us.
More importantly, they marked the 7th and 8th municipalities reached in 2025.
This is no longer experimentation — it’s scale. Youth Chamber of Commerce & Industries - Eswatini Allan-lloyd Jr Hamusokwe Sakhile Nsibandze

3️⃣ Engagement with the Honorary Consul to Eswatini
Officially met the Honorary Consul of Italy in the Kingdom of Eswatini, reinforcing the importance of diplomacy in unlocking development, innovation, and opportunity. Roberto Russo

4️⃣ Sisonkhe Entrepreneurs Eswatini- Asisukumeni Maswati Business Seminar Initiative
Honoured to serve as a panellist, engaging with entrepreneurs who are not waiting for permission to build. These are the people moving the economy forward. Organised by Simphiweyinkhosi Sigudla

💥 The provocation:
If youth empowerment is a priority, it must be visible in policy, platforms, and partnerships — not just speeches.
This year wasn’t about being everywhere.
It was about being where it matters.
2025 closes with momentum

“Honoured to serve. Inspired to lead. Ready to build.”

On the 7th of November 2025, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry & Trade, through SEDCO in partnership with FNB Eswatini, hosted the Entrepreneur of the Year Gala Dinner, graced by His Majesty King Mswati III.

I am deeply grateful to Ms. Khethiwe Mhlanga, CEO of SEDCO Small Enterprises Development Company, for the opportunity to serve as one of the judges for this elite national competition — an experience that took us to every corner of the Kingdom, meeting resilient and visionary entrepreneurs who continue to thrive despite immense barriers.

Each entrepreneur’s story was a reminder that Eswatini’s private sector is not short of talent — only opportunity.

My personal highlight of the night was introducing the Youth Chamber of Commerce & Industries - Eswatini (YCCIE) to His Majesty, and engaging in a powerful conversation that reaffirmed hope for Eswatini’s youth. His commitment to supporting the development of billion-emalangeni youth-led enterprises (Sontondzima) is a challenge we gladly accept.

To my dedicated team — Allan-lloyd Jr Hamusokwe and Sakhile — thank you for walking this journey of purpose and sacrifice. Together, we are not just representing the youth; we are redefining what youth leadership in business means.

Here’s to a generation that refuses to wait for the future — because we’re already building it.

“Some conversations last a few seconds — but their impact can shape a generation.”

Last Friday, 7th November 2025, I had the honour of serving as one of the judges for the Entrepreneur of the Year Awards 2025, hosted by the Ministry of Commerce,Industry & Trade through SEDCO Small Enterprises Development Company (SEDCO) Khethiwe Mhlanga in partnership with FNB Eswatini — an evening graced by His Majesty King Mswati III.

From travelling across the Kingdom to meeting inspiring entrepreneurs who refused to let barriers define them — this experience reminded me that Eswatini’s entrepreneurial fire is alive, and it’s burning brightest among the youth.

But my biggest highlight?
💬 A heartfelt conversation with His Majesty, where I officially introduced the Youth Chamber of Commerce & Industries - Eswatini (YCCIE) — and he emphasized his commitment to seeing our youth build billion-emalangeni enterprises (Sontondzima).

That moment didn’t just mark recognition — it marked responsibility.
A responsibility for us, as youth, to rise beyond complaining and start creating.

This one’s for my brothers in purpose — Allan-lloyd Jr Hamusokwe Sakhile Nsibandze — for your tireless work in solving youth economic challenges. Our vision is clearer than ever: to make youth enterprise the heartbeat of Eswatini’s economy.
The future isn’t waiting — it’s watching what we do next.
