Four Men Arrested, Firearm Seized in Toco

In a swift and coordinated response, a party of officers from the Eastern North Base of the Emergency Response Patrol (ERP) carried out an operation that resulted in the arrest of four men in connection with the possession of a firearm today.

At approximately 12:06 pm, December 29th, 2024, the team of officers proceeded to the CMA Quarry located along the Toco Main Road, where they observed a group of men standing in the area. Upon noticing the officers’ approach, one of the men aimed an AR-15 rifle at the officers and fired several shots in the officers’ direction. In immediate response, the officers returned fire, causing the suspects to flee the scene. A chase ensued, while the officers maintained visual contact with the man carrying the firearm. The suspect, realized he was cornered, threw the rifle into a nearby bamboo patch, raised his hands and surrendered. He was promptly arrested, and the firearm was seized. Shortly after, the other three men were also apprehended by the officers.

The operation was led by PC Kennedy under the guidance of Superintendent Robain and Acting Assistant Superintendent Ward and was coordinated by Assistant Commissioner of Police Hazel. The Eastern Division Task Force (EDTF), Criminal Investigations Department (CID), and Crime Scene Investigators (CSI) have all been notified, and investigations are ongoing.
