🇹🇹 Mosquito Creek Highway Reopens. A Welcome Relief for the South-Western Peninsula!

The completed works of the Mosquito Creek roadway, just in time for the reopening of the new school term is welcome news for thousands of commuters, residents and businesses across the South-Western Peninsula.

The disruption following the roadway failure in 2022 has come at a significant cost, hours lost in traffic, additional fuel expenses, delays, lost productivity and daily frustration.

This reopening is therefore about much more than a road. It reconnects communities, supports economic activity and gives people back valuable time.

The CRBC extends appreciation to NIDCO, the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, the engineers, contractors and all the workers who worked steadfastly to restore this important road connection.

We also urge motorists to do their part: obey the speed limits, follow the traffic laws and drive responsibly. Our infrastructure must be protected and used responsibly.

Good infrastructure keeps people, communities and the economy moving. 🇹🇹

The Confederation of Regional Business Chambers (CRBC), together with our member, Ryan De Castro, President of the Cunupia Business Chamber, welcomes the decisive action to strengthen prison security, surveillance and intelligence gathering, while emphasising the need for sustained efforts, accountability and professionalism.

A secure and stable environment is critical not only to national security, but also to business confidence, investment, economic growth and the safety of our communities.

We commend the dedicated officers who continue to carry out this challenging work and believe that they must be equipped with the resources, training and support necessary to perform their duties effectively and professionally.

As Trinidad and Tobago prepares to mark 64 years of Independence, business leaders across our twin-island nation agree: our greatest challenge is no longer recognizing our potential, but executing real productivity, accountability, and sustainable diversification.

"Genuine diversification must begin with protecting agricultural land and increasing food production. We must repossess dormant state agricultural lands for active farmers, aggressively stop illegal conversion of prime agricultural land, and streamline bureaucracy to secure our economy for the next 60 years."
