As SEOGS 2026 comes to a close, the Talon Team leave Paramaribo with a renewed appreciation for the opportunities that emerge when industry leaders, governments, and businesses come together with a shared vision for the future of energy.

It has been an honour to represent the Talon Group by extension our Talon Communications Network and our Suriname operations while building valuable relationships, exchanging ideas, and exploring opportunities for regional collaboration. On Monday evening, the pre-launch of the Suriname Energy Guide 2026/2027 (SEG2026) at Buitensociëteit Het Park in Paramaribo marked a significant milestone for the region’s energy sector, highlighted by the signing of a strategic MOU between the Suriname Energy Chamber (SEC) and the Energy Chamber of Trinidad & Tobago (ECTT).

Regional collaboration took center stage as government officials, industry stakeholders, and regional partners gathered to hear addresses from Suriname’s Minister of Oil, Gas and Environment, Hon. Patrick Brunings, Interim CEO of the Trinidad and Tobago Energy Chamber, Dr. Priya Marajh, and President of the Suriname Energy Chamber, Mr. Orlando Olmberg.

A key highlight of the evening was the distribution of the first copies of the guide. Now in its highly anticipated 3rd edition, the publication showcases Suriname’s growing energy sector while fostering stronger cross-border partnerships throughout the region.

SEOGS 2026

Today marked the official opening of the Suriname Energy, Oil & Gas Summit & Exhibition (SEOGS 2026) in Paramaribo, Suriname, bringing together regional and international leaders, policymakers, investors, and industry stakeholders under the theme “Unlocking Energy, Empowering Nations.”

The opening session featured an address by Suriname’s President, who emphasized the country’s transition from major offshore discoveries to project ex*****on, first oil production, local content development, and ensuring that the benefits of the energy sector contribute to long-term national prosperity and economic transformation.

The summit also welcomed several distinguished regional leaders, including Trinidad and Tobago’s Minister of Energy and Energy Industries, Dr. Roodal Moonilal, along with representatives and government officials from across the Caribbean and South America, highlighting the importance of regional cooperation in shaping the future of energy development.
