What is true and what is truth.
"Genesis 3:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil ................................................................3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever."
Sometimes what is TRUE doesn't always have to be the TRUTH. But in the spirit of deception what is true becomes a lie. What is true, is scientific evidence. When we say speak the truth, motives, ideologies and what is true comes into play. Our court systems depend mainly on evidence, unless there is evidence of motives. The devil spoke what was true to eve, he spoke what was true to God concerning Job, he spoke what was true to Jesus. But he did it all in the spirit of deception. When he offered Christ the world he didn't lie, 2nd Cor. 4vs4 calls him the god of this world, so he was offering what he had to give.
We as believers now, striving to be Christ like, have to work on our minds. We have to seek the benefits of clarity, information and knowledge. We have to widen our prospects and thoughts so that we will not be deceived. Neither will we use deception, deception is worse than lying. Lying is a sin but deception is an abomination.
