It was a pleasure yesterday to be a part of the graduation ceremony for the “Digital Confidence Project” that was the brainchild of Ms Charlene Ford, founder of the Trinidad and Tobago Association for Differently Abled Persons, in collaboration with Caribbean Virtual Assistants (https://caribbeanvirtualassistants.com/).
In that project, disabled persons were trained on the Google Workspace platform. At the ceremony, participants indicated that they didn’t know that Google offered more than Email. It could be used to build a website, forms, presentations, meetings with autogenerated transcripts, videos and so much more, with Gemini as the icing on the cake. They were all happy to have done the video series.
As a member of Caribbean Virtual Assistants, I was tasked with creating the bite-sized learning videos. One participant told me that she liked how we put together those bit-sized videos so that the learning was easy and not overwhelming.
The picture below shows just the core team that made the project happen. Some of the participants asked that their pictures not be shown so I have respected that and not posted any of them. Although First Citizens Bank was one of the sponsors, unfortunately there was no representative in attendance at the NALIS library, Couva, but I still want to thank them.
