Today I have managed to facilitate Youth With Dissabilities Forum discussing on how they can be engaged in leadership, and access other aspects of society including opportunities, resources and services.
The discussion revealed that PWDs are still perceived as persons who are not capable, who just need aid or charity . However it was recommended to eliminate this individual or old perception as it escalarates discrimination of PWDs . It was confirmed that PWDs have competencies and skills , what needed is to have the inclusive interventions that help to remove social, attitudinal and institutions barries facing PWDs It was further concluded from the discussion that Dissability is not an Ability.
