Let me answer one of the questions raised by one of the members here.
QN: Which harmful or unsafe chemicals that are contained in toothpaste today?
Answer : I will begin with unsafe chemicals, without mentioning particular brands. It's up to you to check on the ingredients list part of the label paper.
1.Triclasan. This is an endocrine or disrupting chemical. It's known to cause breast, ovarian, prostate, and testicular cancer, preterm and low birth weight babies, precocious puberty in girls, and undescended testicles in boys.
2. Fluoride. Is another toxic industrial waste product that is poisonous to your body even in trace amount.
3. Sodium laureth sulfate (SLES). This also causes painful cancer sores though used as a foaming agent in many toothpaste brands globally.
4.Artificial Sweeteners (e.g. saccharin and aspartame)
Saccharin, in the past has been linked to bladder cancer, brain tumours and lymphoma.
Aspartame on the other hand, has been found to affect gut bacteria and increase blood glucose which has been linked to insulin resistance.
As research is currently ongoing, it is best to switch to natural sugar replacements like honey and stevia leaves.
