Jesus gave the sick man a miraculous Sabbath of rest. A Sabbath was one revered day as far as the Jews were concerned.

This man was being questioned as to why he got a miraculous healing on a Sabbath. And who was capable of doing such a thing? It had to be the Lord of the Sabbath. Are there any ceremonies and protocols that have kept you down? It is time you took a step. Am aware of many churches where there is a lot of such ceremonies and protocols with the leaders or men of God them selves having paralysis in their lives. When a man or woman of God, pastor or whatever the title is paralyzed spiritually, the only thing he or she can do is to paralyze the church or the congregation he or she is in charge of.

You may have become so familiar with church programs but your life is still paralyzed because you have not met the man Jesus. The sick man did not know it was Jesus who healed him. Majority of Christians have been plunged into paralysis because they have not known the one whom should know. You have not known Jesus. Jesus needs to liberate you today and now. Jesus has come your way and is speaking to you personally. Do you know Jesus can deliver you from sexual immortality and all kinds of addictions?

What had made this man impotent for thirty eight years was sin.

When we trust Jesus as Savior, the Holy Spirit comes to live in us so He can accomplish God's will through our life.

A vinedresser plants and tends his vines for the purpose of seeing them produce grapes. God, as our vinedresser, encourages us to bear spiritual fruit. He wants our character to show that we are new creatures (2 Cor. 5:17) marked by love, peace, and compassion rather than hatred, anger, and selfishness. For this reason, believers are grafted into Jesus Christ, the living vine.

Luke 4:1 describes the Lord as “full of the Holy Spirit” following His baptism. Jesus’ life and ministry were the result of the Spirit’s empowerment and when we become believers, God sends the very same Helper to indwell us. In the language of vineyards, the sap from the vine flows into a grafted branch, giving it life and the capacity to grow the kind of fruit typical of that plant. The branch and the vine become one, and for that to occur, we should be “rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith ... and overflowing with thankfulness” (Col. 2:7 NIV).

Once we trust in Jesus as Savior, the Spirit of God lives His life through us. When we are obediently following the Lord, our joy and peace are not dependent upon circumstances, and the One in whom we are rooted is our joy and peace.
