CHINUA ACHEBE_ THE CREATOR

Albert Chinualumogu Achebe popularly known as Chinua Achebe was born on November 16, 1930 at Ogidi, Anambra State,Nigeria.

He was a world acclaimed novelist known for his unsentimental depictions of the social and psychological disorientation accompanying the imposition of western customs and values upon Traditional African Society.

His major focus was the emergence of Africa at her period of crisis during Colonial and Post Colonialism.

Notable Literary works accrued to him are "A Man of the people" "Anthills of the Savannah" "Arrow of God" Home and Exile" "Hopes and Impediments" " "Morning Yet on Creation Day" No Longer at Ease" "The Education of a British-Protected Child." "Chike and the River" There was a Country" "A Brief history of Biafra and "Things Fall Apart"

One of the most popular of his works "Things Fall Apart is a great literary master piece which has sold more than ten million copies and has been translated into forty-five languages.

Chinua Achebe is regarded as the founder of Modern African Literature and won several awards to his credit amongst which is the Man Booker International Prize 2007.

Chinua Achebe died March 21, 2013 at Boston Massachusetts, USA.
