Take from Him

Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. Martha was busy serving Jesus while her sister, Mary, sat at His feet and drew from Him words of life. Martha didn’t like it that Mary wasn’t helping her, so she complained about it to Jesus. Who do you think Jesus defended? Mary!

My friend, many believers think that it’s better to give than to receive. Now, that’s true in our relationships with people. But when it comes to our relationship with the Lord, it’s better to RECEIVE from Him than to try to give to Him!

Jesus describes Himself as the “bread of life,” in essence telling us that He wants us to partake of Him and receive from Him all the nourishment, strength, healing, provision, and abundant life we can take!

Our Lord loves it when we take from Him. That’s why Mary pleased Jesus. Beloved, I encourage you to be a Mary today. Our loving heavenly Father loves it when we draw from His unending reservoir of strength, wisdom, favor, peace, and life!

Why does God most times use imperfect people for doing his work?

Its because sometimes, the perfect ones arent that available to do His work. The perfect ones are probably busy doing something for themselves or they are busy minding their own business.

While the imperfect ones are sometimes too broken, that they see God using them as a second chance for redemption and hence their availability.

These are totally two different things. Doing ministry is simply doing his work but walking with the Lord is simply out of relationship.

Ministry is a place where you get disrespected, called all kinds of names and you are not understood even by the people you once helped, prayed for and stood with.

One day, a certain person that i prayed for, abused me to pieces and told me how i was never useful to them.. Sometimes, as a human, you feel like beating them but you have to stay true to your calling of being patient with them and pray for them the next time they come and apologise. Only to again get what they want and insult you again.

Some people tell me how they want to start ministry for money purposes, and i tell them not to waste their time because its not a bed of roses. Its in ministry, where the people you pray for, after they have become well off, they tell you how you are over disturbing them. How you are over calling them not remembering the sleepless nights you spent interceeding for them, you picked up their calls when their loved ones were sick.

Its only in ministry, where you are hated for doing good. You are persecuted for telling someone that what they did was wrong. If you tell someone to stop prostitution, they will say that you are condemning them. They will call you all kinds of names.

But as a minister of the gospel, count it all joy when you go through diverse trials and tribulations, for the trying of your faith worketh patience.
