BUILDING SIMPLE SOLUTIONS: FOOD DELIVERY WITHOUT AN APP IN KAMPALA.
In today’s world, technology seems to dominate every service — apps, platforms, and complex systems. But sometimes, the simplest solutions are the most effective.
A few weeks ago, I casually spoke with a restaurant in Makindye, Kampala. We discussed a simple but powerful idea: helping them reach more customers through direct food delivery. At the same time, I engaged boda boda riders in the area who agreed to support with quick, reliable delivery.
With just these two conversations, the foundation of a food delivery network was born — no apps, no heavy systems, just community collaboration.
Why This Matters
▪️Restaurants win by selling more meals without worrying about delivery logistics.
▪️Clients win by receiving food fast, affordably, and conveniently.
▪️Boda riders win with an additional steady income source.
▪️And I win by building a bridge between them all.
Ex*****on Over Perfection
The biggest challenge is not in the setup but in the ex*****on. Many times, we get stuck in “planning mode” — thinking about websites, apps, or big investments. But ex*****on is about starting small, testing the idea, and letting the market guide the growth.
For me, this means:
▪️Sharing menus directly with clients via WhatsApp.
▪️Taking orders by call or text.
▪️Dispatching through trusted riders.
▪️Collecting and tracking payments manually.
It’s lean, it’s local, and it works.
Makindye is full of offices, homes, and busy people who want convenience. By simply connecting restaurants and riders, we create a service that benefits everyone. This model can grow not by building an app, but by building trust, consistency, and relationships.
Sometimes innovation isn’t about technology, it’s about making what already exists work better together.
▪️ If you’re in Makindye and need reliable food delivery, I’d be glad to serve you.
▪️ If you run a restaurant and want to expand your reach, let’s talk.
This is just the beginning, but I believe it’s a step toward building simple solutions that truly work.
