The check might have been in the mail after all. When postal customers didn't receive their mail on time, investigators started digging and found that a postal worker delivered more than 22,000 pieces of mail to an alternate destination: his garage.

Pass this message along. People are afraid of the IRS and, as such, could be more vulnerable to this type of scam.

Despite warnings about a pervasive tax scam involving phone calls from fraudsters posing as IRS representatives, the scheme continues. So far, more than 90,000 complaints have been filed with the TIGTA hotline with losses to individual taxpayers hitting $5 million.
