Got a call from a friend who had shot a buck. He let us know they had blood but it went into the thick woods and they couldn’t locate the buck. We arrived and Goose immediately took off. We heard him bark once at about 200yrds out and then he started picking up speed. I let the hunter know Goose only barks when the deer is still alive and at that point the chase is on. He was surprised the deer wasn’t dead. Once Goose and the buck got over a half mile out we made the call to go back and get the truck to make up ground before loosing communication. When we got as far as we could in the truck we got back on the trail in the woods. At this point we were probably 500yrds from the dog and we found a drop of blood where the garmin showed the dog had come through. At this point Goose had the buck bayed up and we made our way to him. Congratulations to the hunter on this buck.South Carolina Tracking DogsSouth Carolina Tracking Network
