And what was built…was not surface-level.

This cohort did not come to be inspired.

They came to examine how they operate — and they did the work.

Over five weeks, leaders:

Whew! Still riding the high from guest lecturing at Cornell University for a Stakeholder Engagement course 🙌🏾💼

In true Imana Borena fashion, I didn’t go the traditional route. Instead, I dropped gems about Relational Currency—my take on social capital that calls us to see relationships as currency. 💎✨

We talked about how trust, time, and consistency build value—and how that currency opens doors. The convo was SO good, we stayed 30 minutes over time! 😅

🌟 Honored to have been the lunch keynote at the New York State Association for Mobility Management 2024 Summit! 🌟

I had the privilege of sharing the intersection of my identity as someone who is an NYC native and has experienced various modes of transportation that sought to meet my human needs. During my talk, I emphasized the importance of “Words Have Meaning,” aiming to disrupt the monotony of inequitable resource distribution to underserved and historically ignored communities.

We delved into the critical shift from interpersonal to intrapersonal reflection, highlighting that well-meaning intentions alone are insufficient. Our decision-making processes must address the root causes of systemic impacts to avoid causing significant harm.

It was exciting to learn with those who seek to provide and attain equitable transportation solutions that truly serve every community. 🚍🚲🚆
