HerCo If I'm being honest most of my projects are created by disaster and then design.

However, they are created with the sole purpose of repurposing or restoring what is already owned or salvaged from various sources.

Rescued!! I picked this cabinet up on the side of the road. (It had a free sign)
I loved the wood but didn't like the style of the cabinet so I made a couple of modifications.

Trimmed the molding down to a flatter profile along the edges and cut back the base to give a slimmer appearance for the feet. I went darker on the stain, turned the drawer bottom into the wine slots and cut glass for two shelves instead of a cabinet door.

I'm probably going to put an LED strip for lighting instead of the halo one so it's a little more subtle in the reflection from the glass.

P.S. The wood is Shasheem wood or Indian Rosewood. I had never heard of it before and the grain pattern is beautiful!!

I made this urn for a friend. It is spalted maple, hard maple and oak with epoxy accents. I was told that the young lady that passed liked cherry blossoms and that was the original design. But, as I was working on the flowers, a dragonfly wandered into my shop and after looking up the symbolism of them both, they very much needed to be together on this piece. The second picture shows it glowing in the dark.

CHERRY BLOSSOM- Fleeting Nature of Life (Mono no aware): The brief and beautiful bloom of cherry blossoms, followed by their quick departure, is a powerful symbol of the transient nature of life. This appreciation for the beauty and sadness of impermanence is known as mono no aware.

DRAGONFLY-new beginnings, transformation, and the importance of living in the present moment. Dragonflies are also seen as messengers from the spiritual realm, offering guidance.
