The truth about choosing kitchen equipment for my school operation…

I’m a Child Nutrition Director. I’m a Leader.

Every day, I’m responsible for feeding students.

Every day, I’m responsible for food safety.

Every day, I’m responsible for my budget, my staff, my inventory, and my operation.

So when it came time to prioritize the equipment in my kitchen, I had to ask myself:

What equipment can I absolutely not afford to be without?

Everyone talks about the latest cooking technology.

Combi ovens.
Ovens.
Dishwashers.
Prep equipment.

But for me?

Utility Refrigerator are number one.

Because before I can cook the food…

I have to receive it.
I have to store it.
I have to keep it safe.
And I have to protect my investment.

If my refrigeration goes down, it’s not just an equipment problem.

It’s my food.
It’s my inventory.
It’s my food safety.
It’s my budget.
And ultimately…
It’s my students.

So when I’m choosing a UTILITY refrigerator, I’m not just looking at the price.

I’m asking:

Will it perform every day?

Will it hold the temperature I need?

Can it handle my operation?

How reliable is it?

And who is going to be there when I need service?

Because in my kitchen, refrigeration isn’t an afterthought.

It’s the foundation of my operation.

I can find a way to work around a lot of things.

But when I can’t safely store my food…
I have a serious problem.

So if you’re asking me what equipment I would prioritize in my school kitchen?

My answer is simple:

Utility Refrigerator

Because the food I serve tomorrow…
