Employee Spotlight 🔦!

Henry Sortum is an amazing young man and we feel blessed to have him on our crew this season. A self-starter, he knows his way around the shop and we never have to ask him to do anything twice because he’s already on it before you ask! He is a skilled hay equipment operator and isn’t afraid to get his hand’s greasy.

Not many can keep pace with Jacob when it comes to maintenance and repair of equipment but Henry has matched his stride and we are confident he will be able fix almost anything he puts his mind to on the farm/ranch.

It has recharged our batteries seeing Henry’s enthusiasm to learn the “full circle” of forage farming. From putting seeds into the ground to pivot irrigation, harvesting into a bale and samples that align with what the livestock or customers need. There is something to learn every day!

Henry will be headed to Northeast Community College in Norfolk to get his Associates Degree in Mechanized Agriculture. We wish him the best but will miss him and welcome him back as a weekend warrior if he wishes to.

Thanks for choosing to spend your summer with us Henry!

The controlled burn 🔥 up north gave us something to look at while we are drilling.

But this Pearl Millet we are planting is definitely something to talk about!

How are you doing on feed supplies? What type of forage are you going to need until the next forage harvest? How can 88 Custom Hay help you? Let’s talk about it!

We are excited to spread the Pearl Millet Love to cows via round bales later this year!
