Budweiser had one of the biggest advertising stages in America on February 3, 2002, less than five months after 9/11. Instead of building the commercial around a normal b**r pitch, the company made “Respect.”

Sixty seconds. No spoken words. The Clydesdales travel through winter scenery toward New York, reach the city, then lower their heads toward a Manhattan skyline still missing the Twin Towers.

The image became the entire message.

Budweiser kept the commercial unusually rare. After its original Super Bowl airing, Anheuser Busch brought it back only for the 10th anniversary in 2011, the 20th in 2021, and the 25th anniversary in 2026.

That 2026 return came through a partnership with the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, supporting first responders, veterans, military families, and others who serve.

A Super Bowl commercial lasted one minute. The Clydesdales’ silent bow has lasted for generations.
