e bond creates Glyphs - her first collection of quilting fabrics - for Free Spirit Fabrics. Check out her Instagram to learn more about her artwork and the Glyphs collection.
e bond describes her fabrics in this way, "The drawings I made for the Glyphs collection were born from a series of marks asking questions around what can language be made of. I think about the symbols from this collection as markers that could stand for ideas, time, and emotion. Because I was thinking about the genesis of language, I also thought about the naming of each specific pattern in the collection... I called on the names of African American women writers and poets from post-Civil War America to the Harlem Renaissance to present day."
The Sea Salt quilt finishes at 53 by 65 inches, with a modern and dynamic design. This quilt features fabrics named for Toni (Morrison), Nella (Larsen), Phyllis (Wheatley), and others. Quilt kits include this pattern designed by Tammy Silvers of Tamarinis and fabric to complete the quilt top and binding.
