You never truly understand how fragile life is until you’re entrusted with it in your hands.

In this moment, I bowed my head and paused to honor the Most High—asking Him to guide my hands, steady my heart, and clear my mind. Thanking Him for preparing me for the storm, even before I knew it was coming.

Medicine asks so much of us. Behind the scrubs are human beings carrying the weight of difficult decisions, families’ hopes, and moments that stay with us long after our shifts end.

To every PA and PA student serving in some of medicine’s most demanding specialties: I see you. I respect your dedication, your sacrifices, and the compassion you continue to give, even on the hardest days.

May we never lose sight of the privilege of caring for another life—or forget that we, too, need care. 🙏🏾❤️🩺

These scrubs carry a lot of stories. 👨🏾‍⚕️❤️

As a PA in pediatric neurosurgery, my day can include hospital rounds, helping families understand what comes next, and finding a moment to bring a smile—or a little dance—to a child’s day. Every patient deserves to feel seen, heard, and cared for.

Then I head home, where I’m Dad and husband, with more people to love and care for. That part of SALT Medical Apparel’s story really resonates with me: caring for others doesn’t end when the shift does.

Wearing SALT Salt Medical Apparel today reminds me of the person behind every pair of scrubs. We have families, dreams, long days, and a heart for the work we do.

As a Black man and a pediatric neurosurgical physician assistant, I see the world through a unique lens—one shaped by the realities of racism, but also by resilience, hope, and a deep commitment to caring for others.

My experiences remind me to see the person beyond the diagnosis. Every patient deserves to feel seen, heard, and valued, regardless of their appearance, background, or community.

Excellence in medicine requires more than knowledge and skill. It requires empathy, human connection, and compassion. ❤️

As I continue using my platform to advocate for health and wellness, I remain committed to sharing positivity, spreading love, and bringing smiles—even when the weight of the world feels heavy.

The power of my profession and strength of those who pulled everything together to develop a healthcare profession that has played a integral part in medicine over the last 50+ years. Being a PA is not only fulfilling but beyond rewarding. I am overjoyed and overwhelmed by the growth and reach we have accomplished. To all the PAs before me who paved the way and those that follow me. Happy PA week to all my peeps.
