CCFP is licensed through The Office of the State Fire Marshal to perform inspection testing and maintenance on kitchen fire suppression systems. Here we have a new customer with severely overdue maintenance in their chemical tanks as well as their nitrogen bottle that triggers and allows the system to operate under a fire.
Tanks are to have hydrostatic testing every 5 years and nitrogen bottles have a 12 year working life.
If a fire occurs this restaurants insurance company will not pay this claim.

When we test fire extinguishers we use a method called hydrostatic testing in which we fill the canister with water under intense pressure. A cracked, rusted and damaged canister bottom usually is a good indicator it should be taken out of service and replaced.
