Carmy Christmas story time…

Not a very visual post but go with me on this.

I’ve gotten pretty savvy at buying trees. For example, hell will freeze over before I buy a Cashmere tree. I will also drive a million miles if I find a King of Christmas tree for a good price on a secondary market.

So… I love the tree in the corner of this photo. It’s thick & the branches hold ribbon & ornaments well. I love it so much that I wanted to buy more of them.

Yesterday I put up what was supposed to be the same type of tree as the one in the back… but it wasn’t. It was a totally different tree. 🌲

Dusty flocking versus thick flocking. Thin long branches versus thick, bushy branches.

😳The tree IN the box was not the tree ON the box.

So I had to defluff the bu**er, pack it up & return it. The service counter associate thought I was nuts & I think I scared her when I told her not to put that product back on the floor.

Then I went back to the tree area and got the exact same style… and made another poor associate cut open the box so I could confirm the right tree was in the right box.

Now here I am fluffing the correct tree!

Point of the story: there is none 😂 other than maybe no tree manufacturer should mess with Carmy Christmas?

I try to always have a seasonal tree up in my office.

This week I realized I didn’t have a skirt at the bottom of my autumn tree…

I don’t think anyone on a Teams call could tell but I still felt the tree was naked… so I quickly swaddled a little blanket around the bottom.

My busy-body doggie/supervisor Roscoe decided he should review my work.

I think he approves.

Not all holiday themes and schemes make it out of Carmy Christmas storage every year.

The cardinals took a break in 2025 but I have the perfect customer who will enjoy a beautiful cardinal tree this year!

And the great thing is you will get to enjoy it as well if you frequent Vintage Rose. Kim has the BEST childhood memory involving these pretty red birds… you gotta make her tell you the story 😂

It’s October 1st.. what I officially consider “go time..”

I have two more jobs to enter into my calendar and then I should shut it down. Right?

Or do I open up a few more days for a few more jobs?

And let’s be real… the lame Christmas tree stuck in the utility closet at your office or business really just needs to stay there. Nothing hurts a business more during the holidays than a less-than-jolly decorating effort.

Wow, 100 days until Christmas.

Yes, it’s months away… but think of it this way.

You need to protect your December. You want to enjoy all the parties, concerts, shows and events and not scramble with holiday decorating, right?

So… let’s do it in November.

You’re not throwing shade at Thanksgiving. You’re showing excellent time management skills so you can celebrate both holidays.

Carmy Christmas is protecting her December. My first customer install is Saturday, October 31 and it’s game on throughout November.

Weekends are filling up but I can squeeze in a few more gigs.

I still have a small number of full-service rental options for your home or office. I’ll be posting them soon.
