As the mother of a traumatic brain injury survivor, this appointment is deeply personal and truly a full-circle moment.

What was once part of our family’s greatest pain has now become an opportunity to advocate, serve, and make a difference for others.

Here’s something most people don’t know about me…

I never wanted to get married. 😂

I definitely didn’t want a wedding because I absolutely despise wearing dresses. 🤣

So… we skipped all the fluff.

We went to the courthouse, got married, and picked out our wedding rings the very same day….after we got married💍🤣

We never even had a honeymoon!

I’m just not the foo foo type. 😂

Looking back, though, I can see God’s hand over every season of our marriage.

The last 17 years haven’t been perfect, but they’ve been real. We’ve experienced joy, heartbreak, restoration, growth, and more grace than we deserved.

Marriage isn’t about the wedding… it’s about choosing each other long after the celebration is over.

Happy Anniversary, Matt. ❤️

Seventeen years later… we’re finally planning that honeymoon. 🇪🇸✈️ Spain, here we come! 💙
