📅 Memorial Day Weekend Reminder 🇺🇸
As we head into the holiday weekend, here’s a quick reminder of next week’s service schedule:

Maryland Customers (May 25–30):
All trash, recycling, and yard waste collections will run on a one-day delay.
➡️ Monday routes move to Tuesday, Tuesday to Wednesday, and so on through Saturday.

Virginia Customers (May 25–29):
✅ No service delays — collections will run on your regular schedule.
🏢 Office will be closed on Memorial Day (Monday).

Please have your carts out the night before your scheduled pickup to avoid any delays.

Holiday Weekend Reminder 🎆🔥
As we head into Memorial Day weekend, please help us keep our team and equipment safe:

❌Do NOT place hot ashes, coals, or fireworks in your trash cans.
✅ Always allow materials to cool completely
✅ Soak with water before disposal
✅ Drain and then place in your trash

A small step can prevent fires and keep everyone safe. Thank you for doing your part!

We’re proud to have partnered with the National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) to safely collect and recycle over 𝟐,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐩𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 from the community.

Events like this are so important—not just for recycling, but for helping residents understand the dangers of improperly disposing of batteries and how to do it the right way.

We were especially excited to see residents come out from across the area—including Vienna, Oakton, McLean, Fairfax, and Merrifield—and it was great to meet many of our customers in person.

A big highlight for the day was a visit from 𝗪𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐬𝐲 𝐎𝐰𝐥, who helped spread the message about protecting our environment and keeping our communities safe. 🌲🦉

Thank you to everyone who participated—we look forward to continuing these efforts and bringing more opportunities like this to Fairfax County!

Bring the kids for some family‑friendly fun while helping keep our community safe. Grab some 'skip the bin' swag, and snap a photo with Woodsy Owl and our Evergreen Disposal truck! Best of all, you can help prevent dangerous battery‑related fires just by dropping off your old batteries.

🔋 We’ll be collecting household batteries, including button cells, AAAA–D, and rechargeable lithium‑ion batteries from electronics and power tools.
