I’ve been thinking about this a lot since coming back to Tanzania.
This is the Ikirwa School where the seed for FlowJam Healing Arts Festival was planted.
Years ago, I came here wanting to find a way to give back. That idea became a fundraiser, which eventually became a festival in my backyard on a 16 acre farm, and then a community, a business, and something so much bigger than I ever imagined.
And now I’m back here, dancing with people who have become part of that story 🥹
It’s a pretty beautiful reminder that events don’t just happen when the doors open and the itinerary starts.
There’s something that starts much earlier: the intention, the vision, the people you’re calling in, and the energy you bring to what you’re creating.

But I believe the energy behind all of it matters just as much, if not more.
