✨ Today I had the opportunity to attend the WBDC Catalyst Symposium at Trinity College, and it was such an inspiring experience!

The day was packed with breakout sessions covering real-life essentials for business owners—like how to pitch your business and how to pay yourself as an LLC.

One of the highlights? Watching $25,000 grants awarded to four incredible women-owned Connecticut businesses.

Beyond the sessions, I made so many valuable connections with fellow entrepreneurs and professionals. Events like this remind me how powerful it is to learn, grow, and celebrate women in business together.

Mother’s Day is around the corner, and I’ve been reflecting on how motherhood has completely changed how I see the business world.

I love being a mom. It's the most exhausting, joyful, humbling, hilarious, and heart-expanding role I’ve ever taken on. But let’s be honest—mothers are still being punished professionally for taking time off. For putting their families first. For being human.

We fall behind while others move ahead. We “lose our edge” or get quietly passed over. And yet… we are some of the most efficient, emotionally intelligent, and resilient professionals out there.

This Mother’s Day, I’m celebrating the love, the chaos, and the strength of motherhood—but also calling for a shift in how our workplaces value and support moms.

We can do better. And as someone in HR, I’m working every day to help businesses be part of that change.

To all the working moms out there: I see you. You’re not behind—you’re just climbing a different kind of mountain. And it’s making you stronger.

It's been ONE YEAR since I officially launched my business—and what a year it’s been!

From navigating the wild world of handbooks and compliance to helping small businesses feel confident in their HR decisions, it’s been an incredible journey. I’ve met amazing clients, tackled some tricky situations, and found so much joy in making HR feel a little less intimidating and a lot more human.

Nothing like starting your Monday with a pre-breakfast delivery route! This morning, Avery and I were out bright and early, Girl Scout cookies in hand, making sure everyone got their Thin Mints fix before 9 AM. Because who needs caffeine when you have a car full of sugar and a to-do list a mile long?

Balancing work and mom life means sometimes your morning meeting is with a troop of cookie-loving customers. And honestly, seeing Avery take charge of her sales (and my trunk space) makes it all worth it. 💪💚
