SCAM ALERT:
This scam is currently being used successfully against Redstone Credit Union customers in North Alabama.
A call comes in and the caller ID says it’s your bank/credit union. The “representative” asks you about some suspicious charges on your account and says that they will text message a code to you to verify your identity. You receive the code and give it to the “representative.”
This “representative” is a SCAM ARTIST and you just gave them access to your bank account.
NEVER GIVE ANYONE A CODE THAT YOU DID NOT REQUEST. Two-factor authentication codes are ALWAYS for your direct use ONLY.

This arrest began with a school-based police officer following up on concerns that might’ve been dismissed without someone trained, present, and connected to the student body.
As a former police officer, I’ve seen firsthand how effective SROs can be when they’re embedded in schools for the right reasons: not just to enforce laws, but to build trust, spot early warning signs, and protect the vulnerable.
