"The Two Neighbors on Maple Street"

Lena and Chris lived next door to each other in Ohio.

Lena worked as a nurse. She drove a 2015 Honda, rented a small townhouse, and was paying off student loans. But every morning she thanked God for her health, her job, and her family dinner on Sundays.

Chris was a software engineer. He made 3x more. New truck, big house, vacations to Florida. But he was never satisfied.
He’d scroll Instagram and think: _"My coworker just bought a lake house. My cousin got promoted. I should be doing more."_
Even with everything, Chris felt empty and stressed.

One winter, both of their cars broke down on the same day.
Lena called her brother, they laughed fixing it in the driveway, and had hot cocoa after.
Chris called roadside assistance, waited 2 hours angry, and spent the night complaining online.

At the block party, someone asked them: "Who’s happier?"
Everyone pointed to Lena.

The elderly neighbor, Mr. Thompson, said:
*"Son, happiness isn’t in the bigger house or newer car. It’s in running your own race. Comparison is like running with weights on your ankles. Gratitude is what makes you light. Be thankful in every season — that’s how you truly win."*

*Moral:*
Don’t waste your life looking at someone else’s lane. Run YOUR race.
Comparison steals your joy. Gratitude gives you peace.
The most thankful person is always the richest person.
