I wanted to end the work week with gratitude. There's soooooo much that I can say about my business bestie Ashley of Blush Event Company. She's trustworthy, a straight shooter, dependable, a hard worker and a sweetheart! Ashley loves the wedding industry and will share openly with anyone. She's had my back through this rough year and picked up my slack when my plate was too full. I'm beyond honored to call her my business partner and more importantly my friend. The thing I love about entrepreneurship is that it starts with a vision and then you go on a journey to build something great! The road is windy but those that press on usually create something much better than they could ever imagine in the beginning. The group of girls that came to the Meet, Munch and Mingle brunch are all at different points in their businesses but the common thread is the desire to build a business and life we love. First major career mistake....thinking I could handle a wedding solo! I went through 10+ hours of pure hell! The wedding was at a huge golf resort in the middle of summer. The ceremony, reception and hotel locations weren't within walking distance of each other so I had to take a golf cart to get around. On several occasions throughout the day, I needed to be in two places at the same time which was impossible. The ceremony started late, it was my fault. The reception started late, it was my fault. After this wedding, I vowed to NEVER manage a wedding without an assistant again. -Janel
