Throwback Thursday

Participating in a design charette hosted by Urban Design Associates and RCP Companies for MidCity District in 2015 was a project highlight! Creative minds, logical thinkers, urban planners and visionaries came together to design one of the Southeast's most forward-thinking mixed-use developments in Huntsville, AL.

Now MidCity District is an “18-hour-a-day” space, where visitors are able to enjoy sun-up to sun-down entertainment, activities, events at The Orion Amphitheater and so much more. The built environment includes apartments, retail, multi-family units and opportunities for visitors, residents and businesses to come together and thrive.

What an honor to have been a part — of master planning, naming, branding, marketing and PR!

As retail becomes more experiential, resale is starting to play a bigger role in the in-store experience. Brands like Pacsun and Faherty are bringing secondhand concepts into physical stores through curated vintage sections, trade-in programs and dedicated resale shop-in-shops that give shoppers something new to discover every time they visit.

It’s another example of how brick-and-mortar retail continues to evolve alongside consumer preferences — especially with younger shoppers looking for authenticity, sustainability and more unique finds. Concepts like these create more engagement, longer visits and a stronger sense of connection between brands and consumers creating experiences people want to come back to - I mean who doesn’t love a treasure hunt?

Goal! CREW Atlanta is UNITE-ing for a Cause

CREW Atlanta and Atlanta Commercial Board - ACBR are joining several of Atlanta’s leading CRE organizations for Uniting Atlanta, a soccer-inspired networking event at The CTR Atlanta on June 25.

The event brings the city’s commercial real estate community together with interactive games, stadium-style bites and a tour of The Center’s redevelopment, all while celebrating the partnerships shaping Atlanta’s CRE landscape. Proceeds benefit For the Hope Partnership, an Atlanta-based nonprofit providing hot breakfasts, community support and essential resources to people experiencing homelessness and hardship — offering hope, dignity and meaningful connections throughout the city.

Connolly Realty welcomed the Brookhaven community to a Spring Lawn Party at Parkside on Dresden in late April to celebrate the opening of Woodley Plaza — Brookhaven’s newest gathering space. In partnership with the City of Brookhaven, the plaza was officially dedicated to Dan Woodley, whose vision helped shape the Dresden Drive Corridor into the thriving destination it is today.

Even with a little rain, the community showed-up and was entertained with music, dancing, lawn games, giveaways, merchant promotions and a special visit from the Brookhaven Fire Department. Located in the heart of Brookhaven, Parkside on Dresden offers services, shopping, dining, living and community spaces along Dresden Drive — with Woodley Plaza as the central hub for neighbors and visitors to gather and connect.

Another great ICSC Las Vegas is in the books!

From early morning walks on The Strip to busy days filled with booth installs, learning, networking and reconnecting with industry friends.

• Hearing from Erin Andrews on the importance of knowing your role, working hard and communicating effectively.
• Seeing the energy on the showfloor including the buzz at The Home Depot among many others!
• Enjoying the Brixmor Property Group cocktail party at Intrigue at Wynn.
• Learning leadership lessons from Coach K, who shared his 3 As: Agility, Adaptability and Accountability.
• Supporting Elizabeth Hagin of Selig Enterprises, Inc. during the "Beyond the Dashboard: Turning Shopper Data into Demand" panel, moderated by Angela Sweeney of JLL and also featuring Corbett Guest of Imaginuity and Stacy Sheldon of Alexander Babbage, Inc..
• Taking in the incredible Sphere experience with The Wizard of Oz.
• Wrapping up busy days with great conversations and dinners.

Jenn and Gina along with their significant others (early dating days for Jenn and Frank and year 12 for Gina and Jamie) took in a Atlanta Braves Game in 2010. This is just one of many games that we "chopped" together over the past 25 years. Go Braves!

It’s time for another Pet of the Month, and this tail-wagging team brings plenty of personality.

Meet Mabel and Cheerio — Jenn and Frank’s lovable Labrador Retrievers who keep life entertaining in very different ways. Mabel, also known as “Wigs” for her constantly wagging tail, is a self-proclaimed princess, while her annoying little brother Cheerio, lovingly nicknamed “Squoosh,” is always ready to make his opinion known, especially if it involves going for a walk or lounging in the pool.

Together, they share an obsession with their people, a love for ice-pops (ice cubes) as a treat and an ongoing rivalry over toys that keeps things interesting. Having earned frequent flyer miles with trips to Florida and Colorado, they both love adventure and bring equal parts comfort, comedy and unconditional love to everyday life.
