Have you ever wanted to do something so badly but didn’t know if you were going to be any good at it? Then, when you do have the opportunity, you absolutely sucked?
Yep, that was me. Axe throwing 🪓 was the thing.
I’ve told friends I have wanted to go axe throwing for the longest time. Shared with the fam how cool it looked. Ok, maybe I talked about it a little too much about it. 😆
When the opportunity presented itself, I was game! 😎
The excitement quickly turned to disappointment after throwing this sharp object for 30 minutes with no luck.
Then, all of sudden…
Wham! I landed one! ☝️
What did it take to finally hit the target? 🎯
1. Pay attention to directions. The super knowledgeable host gave us detailed directions on how to land our axes. (It took me a little longer than everyone else. 😂)
2. Be patient. Be patient with yourself and the process. Don’t be so quick to throw your hands up and walk away. *Definitely don’t throw your hands up if you have an axe in your hand. 🪓
3. Stay consistent. Keep trying until to you make it. I almost gave it. Thankfully, my family pushed me to keep going. 🙌🏽
4. Be coachable. The axe throwing pros watched my form and gave me tips. My family noticed my jacket was getting in the way. Another member noticed how I was holding my axe improperly. 🥇
5. Have fun! Enjoy the process and journey. Celebrate the win and the fails. 🤩
